This month we are sharing some stories of God at work through the Cru staff we serve!

Cru Military

“Spiritually Fit-Ready to Serve” (SFRS) is a program available to trainees at the eight military Gateway locations for men and women preparing to enter the armed services. Fort Sill, a U.S. Army post near Lawton, OK, is one such location. This summer, almost 900 men and women at Ft. Sill attended an SFRS event where Pastor Keven Haselton reminded them that God welcomes everyone who turns to Him in repentance, regardless of their past. Over the course of the evening over 200 trainees indicated their desire to come to faith in Christ. The Cru Military team at Ft. Sill was available to spend time with the trainees who requested one-on-one ministry following the event.

Cru City

Cru’s ministry helping people reach their cities takes a variety of forms. Embark is Cru’s outreach to young adults as they transition from college to independent adulthood. Ministry often occurs in the context of new jobs and new cities. This summer hundreds of recent college grads gathered in Nashville, TN to connect with others, join discipleship groups and receive training to grow as multiplying disciples. The result? Dozens of young adults across the city were newly inspired and equipped to share the gospel, grow in their faith and bear good fruit.

Puerto Rico

On a university campus in Puerto Rico, teammates handed out homemade flowers with a Bible verse and a QR code to a survey. For one student, Andrea*, the flower arrived during a hard day, near the one-year anniversary of when she attempted to end her life. During a follow-up appointment she told Cru staff, “You showed up with the flower and told me that I was loved. I really needed that.” Her new friends from Cru began to share more about their faith and were able to clearly explain the gospel with Andrea and her friend Amanda who both placed their faith in Christ.
