God has opened the door and we are following! He has provided an opportunity for us to again reach out to people in Tokyo with the Good News of Jesus Christ! The need in Japan is still so great! Although it is a developed country with many modern conveniences, there are big challenges to reach their hearts. The Gospel competes with the traditional religions of Shintoism, Buddhism, and Ancestor worship. Plus they are taught evolution and think education and wealth will solve all their problems. Yet they have one of the biggest suicide rates in the world! We know they need the Lord\u2019s amazing love, forgiveness, hope, and purpose for life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are going June 23rd – July 9th on a Cru City sponsored mission trip in the western part of Tokyo, Japan with a team of 4 other adults. Our goals are to assist with a newly planted church in Kichijoji and to reach out to students at nearby university campuses. We pray we can find young adults who will become our friends and become interested in knowing Jesus and attending church. Cru City hopes that this mission trip will open the door for future trips from the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By working alongside the Japan CCC staff and the local pastor and church members, we believe God will enable us to step into many opportunities to help people hear the Good News of Jesus. As we travel to Japan we will experience a familiar culture and wonderful people, and yet also a culture changed by these almost 2 decades since we lived there! We also look forward to seeing our former church friends, our present disciples who are growing in their faith, and our dear JCCC staff.

In order to accomplish these goals, we need you! We need your prayers most of all and your extra financial gifts. We need to see God provide $6600 to cover our airfare, train fare, and living expenses. Thanks for prayerfully considering this need. Please pray for us as we get ready to go on mission to Japan with Cru this summer! We will share the gospel and help a new church being planted in Tokyo and do outreach with college students.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer Requests<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Praise God for the large group of new staff who are preparing to join Cru in May and in July! Pray that the Lord continues to lead more laborers to work with us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Pray for wisdom for Steve and many others who are each playing significant parts In Cru\u2019s human resources reconfiguration. New leaders have started to be announced and we expect more changes to be worked out over the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Thanks for your prayers for all our family. We are encouraged by Josh\u2019s strong steps into young adulthood and by the good example of his brothers and sisters and families. We were encouraged spending Easter together!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
