Ben is working on raising his support for the trip, airfare and living expenses, to join a special team of American college students who will help share the good news on campuses there. We appreciate your prayers for his support and ministry! Link for gifts to Ben’s account. UPDATE: Ben needs just $1400 by Monday May 21 to finish his $5800 goal!
Melissa will be joining a special internship program here in Orlando with MK2MK, for 5 weeks in May and June. She is also raising support to participate in the program. This will qualify her to help MK2MK in the future to meet the needs of MKs who are part of the Cru missionary families we send. Melissa will also volunteer for some of the set up for the project in the couple of weeks before it starts. Thanks for praying!

Rochelle’s first round of chemo went very well, and she is now starting her second round of six. After the first 10 days of the cycle, she felt pretty good for the rest of the 4 week cycle. We so appreciate your prayers for us in all this! We’ve set up a Caring Bridge site to help keep you updated, so please sign up there for more prayer updates. Visit Rochelle Clark on Caring Bridge.
Some of you may want to give to help cover Rochelle’s expenses. Insurance covers 85%, but we will need gifts to cover the 15% up to about $8000. Many of these expenses have already begun with the bone marrow biopsy, the CT scan and the port surgery. Since we serve the Lord with Campus Crusade for Christ (sending out new missionaries around the world as our full time job) gifts such as this work best with the IRS if you send your gift through CCC. Checks can be made to Campus Crusade for Christ and mailed to CCC at 100 Lake Hart Dr, Orlando, FL 32828 with a small note designating the gift for “Steve and Rochelle Clark #0257817.” Also feel free to give online here. Thank you so much!

Okay, we have had 2 doctor appointments this week for Rochelle. The first one was to get a second opinion about her CLL status and the need to start chemo now, as well as read over her bone marrow biopsy. The doctor was part of MD Anderson Orlando, the second largest after the well respected Houston area Cancer Institute, and they did a very nice job of professionally and personally talking over the whole treatment, prognosis and expectations. In the end, they completely agreed with our original cancer doctor that now is the time to start chemo for CLL. They agreed on the chemical combination and the treatment schedules. Confirmed the hair loss (oh yes, I’m sure you will) and the benefits of getting a port put in.
So Friday, yesterday we met with our original cancer doctor and agreed on moving forward. So this coming week Rochelle will be getting a port surgically implanted, and a CAT scan will be arranged to picture all her body’s lymph nodes and show how swollen with lymphocites (white cells) they are, as a base line for what happens through the treatment (they should go down and be much less swollen by the end). The week after that she will be going in to our Cancer Institute of Florida (at the Florida Hospital East Orlando) for outpatient IVs of the chemo for 3 days. She will have one cycle each 28 days, 3 days of chemo and 25 of recovery, and 6 cycles of the chemo, so it will take nearly 6 months.
We so appreciate your prayers for us in all this! We’ve set up a Caring Bridge site to help keep you updated, so please sign up there for more prayer updates. Otherwise, I’ll limit what I include in these prayer updates. Here is the link: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rochelleclark
Thanks so much!
Steve and Rochelle

Wed Feb 22 Rochelle will be going in for a bone marrow biopsy test. This will help the oncologist directing her chemo treatments, which will begin the second week of March, and go on over 6 months.
We really need your prayers for God’s healing, wisdom and careful work by the doctors and medical personnel involved, and strength to go through the journey.
Pray for comfort and acceptance and faith as we face these next several months, one day at a time. Pray that we can also be His witnesses with those we are with in the hospitals and medical centers.
Pray for all of God’s good work through this experience, that we may grow in intimacy with the Lord. We are so thankful for all your support in prayers!
